Title case rules this tool follows

Our Title Case capitalizes major words and keeps short words — like a, an, the, and, but, or, for, of, in, on, to — lowercase unless they're the first or last word. This matches the general approach of common style guides such as AP and Chicago, though those guides differ on some details (for example, prepositions of four or more letters).

Fix accidental caps lock

Typed a whole paragraph with caps lock on? Paste it and click Sentence case — the first letter of each sentence is capitalized and the rest becomes lowercase. Proper nouns will need a quick manual fix.

Writing a URL? Use kebab-case, or try the Slug Generator, which also removes special characters.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between title case and sentence case?

Title case capitalizes most words in a heading (“How to Write a Great Headline”). Sentence case only capitalizes the first word and proper nouns (“How to write a great headline”).

How do I convert all caps to normal text?

Paste the text and click Sentence case. Each sentence starts with a capital letter and the rest becomes lowercase. You may need to re-capitalize names afterward.

Which case should I use for URLs?

Use lowercase kebab-case, like /how-to-resize-an-image. It's readable, and hyphens are the separator Google recommends for URLs.

Is my text stored?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded or saved.

Does it work with accented letters and other languages?

Yes. Upper, lower, and capitalization work with accented letters and most alphabets that have upper and lower case.
